Southeastern Construction of Summerville recently completed a new event space pavilion at historic Middleton Place. The builders are a client of Buist Byars & Taylor, and are also currently working on a renovation of the firm’s Mt. Pleasant office.
Designed by architect Reggie Gibson, the 4,700 square-foot pavilion will be used to host large meetings, weddings and other events. Situated on the southeastern edge of the expansive lawn, the large windows offer a stunning view of the live oaks on the property. It also features many unique details, including the main oak doors, which were milled from a branch of the Middleton Oak that fell years ago, and sections of the walls and 13-foot ceilings that incorporate reclaimed wood from a horse farm.
