David F. Gieg has joined the firm as a partner in the commercial real estate practice area.

Dave brings nearly 20 years of experience as a real estate and corporate attorney. His practice is primarily focused on commercial real estate. For example, he handles acquisitions, divestiture, financing, development, and leasing, including transaction structuring.

Dave has worked across all asset classes. He has particular experience in the hotel, resort and hospitality industry.  His corporate work includes private company mergers and acquisitions and joint venture agreements. In addition, he handles negotiation of commercial contracts, hotel management and franchise agreements, and general corporate counseling.

He earned his B.A. from Yale University. Dave also graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law.  He then spent nearly two decades working in large firms in Atlanta and Charleston. Also, he served for three years as in-house counsel for a public company in Atlanta. 

Dave is based in Buist Byars & Taylor’s Mt. Pleasant office at 652 Coleman Boulevard. We welcome him aboard!
